Objective
The Fund aims to provide investors access to the long term growth potential of stock markets in China and North Asia and an opportunity for income through investments in fixed income instruments.
Any change in objective will require Unit Holder Approval.
Asset Allocation
In order to meet its objectives, the Fund will invest as follows:
- up to 50% of its assets in China and North Asia related investments that may comprise of funds, equities and fixed income instruments.Of this, up to 30% of the fund’s total assets will be invested in the Credit Agricole Funds - Greater China and the remaining portion will be invested either in direct China and North Asia related investments as per above and/or Malaysian equities which will focus on companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia doing significant business related to China and North Asia.
- not less than 50% of the Fund will be allocated in Malaysian Fixed Income Securities with a minimum short-term credit rating of P2/MARC2 or long term rating of A3/A-
Investment Strategy
The Fund will seek to meet its objectives by investing up to 50% of its assets in equities.Of this, up to 30% will be invested in the Credit Agricole Funds - Greater China, a Fund specialising in investing in ChinaNorth AsiaThe remainder of this portion of the Fund will be invested in a portfolio of China and North Asia investments consisting of collective investment schemes, equities and fixed income instruments and/or Malaysian equities which will focus on companies listed on the Bursa Malaysia doing significant business related toChina and North Asia. Generally, companies with reasonably good earnings growth prospect over the medium to long-term are sought.In identifying such companies, the Fund relies on fundamental research where the financial health, industry prospects, management quality and past track records of the companies are considered.
The Fixed Income portion of the Fund will be invested in fixed income securities such as sovereign bonds, corporate debt and money market instruments.
